Thoughts for Parents
"Love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind." ~Matthew 22:37
What does this actually look like? Is this a pretty phrase we use when trying to define our relationship with God?
or is this the creed by which we stand as we live our life in relationship to Him?
Do we expect our children to understand and obey this, the greatest of the commandments?
or are we ourselves fully obedient to God's will in this way?
To love the LORD with our whole heart, we need to be full of WONDER. Who is God, that He is mindful of us? He created the starry hosts, and knows them all by name.
To love the LORD with our whole soul, we must be filled with PASSION. God has big plans for us, and we are made to live them!
To love the LORD with our whole mind, we need to have a life of DISCOVERY. We serve a great big God, whom we cannot fully know. What a joy to expect to see Him in a new way every single day!
How can you incite these traits in yourself? How can you instill them in your children?
